Practical writing on nearshore delivery, MVPs, and stack choices — for founders who want a clear answer, not a slide deck. Bosnian guides.
Studio
Nejra Coric directs CodeLoop Studio in Sarajevo. This is her account of working with AI from a vague idea to something she will ship: the questions before code, one screen at a time, and a private API key that stays off the phone.

Legacy software modernisation for UK and EU teams: when to stabilise, refactor or rewrite — and what a code audit should cover before anyone sells a six-month rebuild.
Startups
UK startups do not need twelve personas before a stranger can finish one loop. Freeze the slice, pick Flutter or React Native when it fits, and ship something investors can tap.
Markets
A dedicated development team in Europe should show up in your GitHub and stand-ups — not on a slide with a mailbox in a city you never visit.
Markets
Nearshore is not a rebranded offshore slide. For UK and EU buyers it is overlap, English delivery, and saying where the team actually sits.
Markets
Nearshore in the Balkans is not a cheaper slide deck. Same CET day, English delivery, and more of the budget lands in shipped product instead of office rent.
Markets
European companies do not need a Balkan branch office to grow a product team. They need named engineers, your GitHub, and a studio that stays after launch.
Markets
Stand-ups, pull requests, CI, and English specs look the same in Sarajevo as in Amsterdam. The difference is unit cost and timezone honesty — not craft.
Markets
Buyers across BiH and the wider region already trust European brands. A local product partner helps you ship for that market without inventing a fake regional HQ.
Native mobile apps
Every AR demo ships pinch-to-scale. In RoomFit we deleted it — the moment a shopper can shrink a 230 cm sofa, the answer stops being an answer.
Native mobile apps
Gating an AR app behind LiDAR is an easy engineering decision and a bad product one. Plane detection is enough when you already know the object’s size.
Product
Retailer AR only previews what someone modelled in 3D. A photo, a background cut-out, and real dimensions cover the second-hand cabinet too.
Product
Photos of someone’s living room are not neutral data. In RoomFit the default is local, and the network call only happens when a user asks for it.
Product
Every AI feature has a per-call cost. Hiding that behind the word “unlimited” buys you a month of goodwill and a year of refund requests.
App Store & Play
RoomFit sells €24.99 a year and €59.99 once. Offering both is a bet about how long people keep an app they open while shopping.
Delivery
Checklist for taking over an app from a previous freelancer: access, freeze, first honest release — then the hub at /legacy-software-takeover.
Product analytics
An event tracking plan is a list of names, properties, and who owns the dashboard — not a tag manager dumped on launch day.
Design
Motion in a product UI should explain a state change. A looping hero video on 4G is not design — it is a bounce.
App Store & Play
In-app updates on Google Play are a release tool: flexible or immediate, inside your Console, after a build that already passes review.
Native mobile apps
Most “the date jumped” bugs are timezone and calendar handling, not a time machine. Freeze how you store instants before the first TestFlight.
Custom software
Authentication is accounts, roles, and a reset path your operator can run. A library name on a slide is not a login.
Decisions
A ledger on a chain is a product only when several parties must share a record they cannot quietly edit. Most CRMs and shops do not.
Delivery
Code quality here is a review, a pipeline, and a handover — not a linter brand on a conference talk.
Native mobile apps
New Android work in this studio is Kotlin and Jetpack Compose. XML ViewBinding stays for inherited screens we are not rewriting for sport.
Custom software
A custom CRM is who sees the lead and what happens after the quote. A packaged board of logos is cheaper when your funnel is standard.
Product
An MVP is one loop on a URL or a store listing. Six roles and a TAM slide is a cathedral with a smaller invoice.
Websites
Next.js is how we ship sites with a job: enquiry, booking, or product education — not a PDF in a browser with a framework sticker.
Websites
A law firm site is practice areas, names, and a phone someone answers. It is not a nightclub palette or a “top 10” badge we invented.
Websites
A landing page repeats the ad, takes one action, and stays fast on a phone. Ten header links are a website wearing a campaign URL.
Design
Design without a build stays a PDF. We draw UI for the site or app the same team ships — content and thumb reach before the palette.
Ecommerce
Ecommerce is variants, shipping, tax, and a checkout thumbs can finish. A Buy button on a brochure is not a shop.
Custom software
A web app is the URL staff open every morning: accounts, roles, a next action. A marketing site with a password field is still a brochure — budget it as one.
Websites
A company website has to survive a sales link pasted into mail: who you are, what you sell, and where the enquiry lands. A PDF of services is not that page.
Hospitality
A restaurant website has to answer menu, hours, and how to book before the guest hits the door. A 20MB PDF is a file, not a menu.
Custom software
A web portal is who logs in and what they are allowed to see. A public site with one password on a PDF folder is not a portal — it is a shared drive with extra steps.
Websites
A real estate site is a listing the agent can take down on Sunday. A stock penthouse theme that still shows sold units is worse than no site.
Websites
A clinic website has to say what you treat, when you are open, and how to book. We do not write diagnoses, fake reviews, or patient counts.
Hospitality
A hotel website is rooms, how to get there, and a request that reaches reception. It is not a second Booking.com with your logo pasted on.
Websites
A school website is news, enrolment, and a PDF that opens. It is not an e-gradebook. If nobody will post news, we ship a thinner site — not a dead CMS.
Websites
WordPress is a fine CMS when someone will actually publish. It is a poor default for booking, checkout, or login — a plugin only postpones the real product.
Custom software
A website is how people find you. A web app is how staff or clients work after they log in. Mixing the two in one quote is how both ship late.
Custom software
Cloud versus local is a data and uptime conversation, not a slogan. Most products we ship live in the cloud. Offline field work is the exception that has to be named.
Pricing & delivery
Website cost in BiH is a page count, copy, and languages conversation — not a poster price. A shop or a login is a different product and a different estimate.
Pricing & delivery
Web app cost in BiH follows roles, integrations, and how dirty the current Excel is. Custom work here typically sits in a 3–9 month arc. A site quote is not a substitute.
Pricing & delivery
Maintenance is who applies updates, who answers when search breaks, and whether copy changes wait for a ticket. Hosting on a card is not that contract.
Websites
SEO on a site we ship means titles that match search, internals, and a page Google can read. It does not mean we sell first place for a city plus a noun.
Websites
A useful website brief is ten decisions, not a moodboard. Who gets the enquiry, what “done” means, and whether this is actually a shop or an app.
AI & developer tools
AI that pays off in BiH is a loop staff already live in — inbox, stock, scheduling — not a chatbot glued to a brochure. We automate the job, or we say no.
E-commerce
Belgrade retailers already sell on Instagram and a courier first name. A web shop is only worth building when checkout survives cash on delivery and weekend stock changes.
E-commerce
A Zagreb sales link has to check out the same afternoon it is pasted into Slack. Cards, invoices, and delivery cost before pay — that is the shop, not the palette.
E-commerce
A web shop is the path from product to paid order. A gallery with a Buy button that opens chat is still a brochure — and you should budget it as one.
E-commerce
We start a web shop with how money and parcels move, not with a theme that dies on the first discount. SKU count and checkout rules freeze before the palette.
Websites
Agencies do not need another theme pack. They need a studio that ships crawlable pages, keeps the client’s accounts, and does not pitch the client a cheaper rebuild.
Websites
Website development is a page that ranks, loads on a phone, and puts an enquiry in the right inbox. A logo on a template is a different, cheaper job — say so before kickoff.
Startups
A web agency for startups should freeze one URL investors and users can tap — not forty pages of vapour while the product is still a slide deck.
Studio
A software house in Sarajevo is a named owner, weekly demos, and a repo you keep — not a slide deck of CVs with a city watermark.
Markets
Scandinavian teams hiring a web agency usually want English, CET overlap, and a first URL they can tap — not a Stockholm plaque on a studio that sits in Sarajevo.
Custom software
Business software in BiH usually starts as three spreadsheets and a WhatsApp group. We replace the loop staff already live in — we do not sell a chatbot on the homepage.
Markets
Searching for a web agency in Europe often means CET hours and English — not a Brussels plaque on a studio that actually sits in Sarajevo.
Hospitality
Restaurant software that pays off is a live menu, a stock count, or a booking inbox — not a generic till clone we have never run on a Saturday night.
Pricing & delivery
Software development from Bosnia is a rate conversation until you ask who owns the repo, who demos on Friday, and whether the binary actually ships.
SaaS
A SaaS development agency should ship tenants, billing, and an admin your team can run — not a demo that only works in the pitch deck.
Pricing & delivery
App development cost in Bosnia depends on scope, platforms and integrations — here is what moves the number with a Sarajevo studio versus US or EU rates, and how to get a scoped estimate in 24 hours.
App Store & Play
How a Sarajevo team prepares iOS and Android listings, handles review, and ships to the App Store and Google Play for clients in Bosnia, the US, and the EU.
Hospitality
How restaurants, cafés, and hotels recoup a QR digital menu: reprint savings, live prices, fewer 86’d-item surprises, and a phone-first guest experience.
Cross-platform
Should you build your cross-platform mobile application with Flutter or React Native? We compare performance, UI, ecosystem, and costs so you can choose the right technology for your product.
Native mobile apps
When to invest in native iOS and Android development instead of cross-platform. We explain the benefits of native mobile apps for performance, UX, security, and access to device features.
AI & developer tools
Curious about vibe coding with AI tools like Cursor, GitHub Copilot and others? We explain what AI-assisted coding is, who it's for, and how to start safely even if you're not a senior developer.
How-to, cost, and comparison pages. Each keeps its own URL.
